French Song

from The Charmer Is Dead by Josh Eagle

/

about

****Written in October of 2015. Jacqueline and I had just returned from France and Spain. Inspired by the 17th arrondissement, the canals, the slower culture; and with the political climate exploding my brain in America, it was the very first time I thought of living abroad. Still do sometimes. ****

lyrics

VERSE 1
Meet me on the corner of Rue Noulet in the 17th/We'll take it all through the daylight
Meet me on the corner of Rue Noulet in the 17th/ We'll talk it all through the moonlight
Yea, meet me on the corner of Rue Noulet in the 17th/You got a light inside of your eyes

CHORUS
We run run run run run/cause we can
I'm sick and tired of guns/the food taste bad
I think we need a change/you said
The Charmer is Dead

Verse 2
Bobby was a fast talker/red wine and his kitty cat/I think I could die inside this place
Bobby was a fast talker/ red wine and his cigarettes/Is that the Russians he's been talking 'bout?
Bobby was a fast talker/red wine and his kitty cat /I could die inside of this place.

CHORUS
We run run run run run/cause we can
I'm sick and tired of guns/the food taste bad
I think we need a change/lord knows you need a change/ we said
The Charmer is Dead
